Castle Street Flowers is a relatively new business, situated at the bottom of Castle Street in Farnham. We offer you the best variety in fresh cut stem flowers, plants, topiary trees, flower arrangements, bouquets, vases, sundries and last but not least a friendly and personal service.

Our flowers come direct from two suppliers in Holland, ensuring that the flowers are as fresh as can be but at the same time the best value they can be.                              (laurus nobilis)

 

 

The Bay Laurel (Laurus), also known as True Laurel, Sweet Bay, Grecian Laurel, Laurel, or Bay Tree, is an aromatic evergreen treeor large shrub reaching 10–18 m tall, native to the Mediterranean region. The leaves are 6–12 cm long and 2–4 cm broad, with a characteristic finely serrated and wrinkled margin.

Bay tree care

Position:
They can with stand full sun or are quite happy in partial shade.

Watering:
Bay trees need moderate watering in their growing period (may – oct) however in the winter only need watering one or twice every 6 weeks, as this is the plants rest period.
Clipping:
Bay trees need cutting about once every 6 weeks, just in the growing period. The more you clip bay trees, the more you encourage new growth.
Re potting:
good nutrients in the soil is important with bay trees, other wise the leaves start to turn yellow/brown. Bays need repotting every 2-3 years to prevent this.
Feeding:
Bays’ need feeding once every six or so weeks. Only feed durin in the growing period.
